SENIOR INSTRUCTORS (SENSEI)
Sensei Ryan Gummerman
Ryan has been studying the martial arts for over 10 years. He has trained in Shaolin Kempo, Wing Chun, Greco-Roman Wrestling, Jiu Jitsu, Kali, Silat, & Muay Thai, and currently holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt with USSD. In addition to the mentioned fighting styles, Ryan has also trained & taught extensively in South East Asian weaponry. Most recently, Ryan competed in the United Studios International Martial Arts competition, and swept the Men?s Black Belt Division taking home 1st place honors in the Sparring, Kata, and Weapons Divisions. In his free time Ryan enjoys reading books on Martial Art Philosophy and working out.
Sensei Vladimir Schotkin
Vladimir comes to us from Budapest, Hungary. Vlad started his training at the Irvine Studio since he was 5 years old. After 10 years of diligent training, Vlad received his black belt at the age of 15. Vlad has taken his training and is now mentoring and training children to achieve black belt while balancing martial arts and all the rigors of school. Vlad is currently a Junior in High School and has a 4.4 GPA. He is fluent in Russian and English

Sempai Adam Velasquez
Adam has been training with us since he was 4 years old. Of all the current instructors, Adam has been part of the studio the longest! He has been a model in humility and a genuine desire to help others. Adam graduated from Woodbridge High School with Honors along with Sensei Vladimir. Adam is currently attending Irvine Valley College where he is taking classes in order to fulfill his dream of being a filmmaker. Adam still finds a way to balance all of his college units and his teaching responsibilities, while still having a smile for every one!
Sempai Joshua Morrison
Josh has been training in martial arts since he was 4 years old. He recently graduated from Lakeside Middle School where he graduated with a 4.0 GPA while taking Honors classes. Josh also had the unique opportunity to test for his Jr. Black Belt at the famed Shaolin Temple in the heart of China! Josh is currently attending Woodbridge High School. His hobbies include snowboarding & wakeboarding.
Sempai Ryan Long
Ryan has been training in martial arts for the past 8 years. Ryan recently graduated from Lakeside Middle School achieving Valedictorian honors in the process. In addition, Ryan was also school president and a centerback for his junior national soccer team. Ryan credits martial arts for helping his focus so that he can successfully juggle all of the activities in his life. In his spare time, Ryan plays multiple musical instruments, play chess, and hang out with his friends.
Sempai Gabriel Zakaryan
Gabriel has been doing martial arts since he was 4 years old. He is currently in 7th grade at South Lake Middle School. He has carried straight A's for the past several years, and hopes to be #1 in his class when he graduates. When Gabriel is not teaching martial arts lesson, you will probably find him reading, drawing, or playing football.
